Void Gallery to host an evening with ‘one of the most important film-makers Ireland has ever produced.’

On Tuesday the Void Gallery will be hosting an evening of film and discussion with Vivienne Dick, described by the Irish Times as ‘one of the most important film-makers Ireland has ever produced’.
Donegal born Vivienne moved to New York in the 70’s and her early work is associated with the No Wave music and film movement of that era. Her super 8 films featured some of the biggest female punk performers of the time, and is now considered one of Ireland’s foremost feminist artists.
Her work has been exhibited in MOMA and The Whitney Museum New York, and Tate Modern, and she has a major show of old and new work opening in June 2017, at IMMA, Dublin.
Void will be screening 'She had Her Gun All Ready' (1978), 'The Irreducible Difference of the Other' (2013) and 'Red Moon Rising' (2015) and Vivienne Dick will be taking questions from the audience.
The event takes place at 7pm on Tuesday 25th in Void Gallery, and entry is free.
