Welcome for new online faulty street light reporting system
A new online reporting system for faulty street lights that the general public in Mid Ulster can use has been welcomed by Ian McCrea, DUP MLA for the area.
The system is similar to that which is in place for pot holes.
Speaking today, Mr McCrea said: "Over the past number of months my offices have been inundated with complaints from constituents regarding street lighting faults.
“I welcome the new online reporting system so any members of the public can report their faulty light online by going into the NI Direct website.”
To report a faulty street light you can now take down the number of the street light that is faulty and go to http://reportfaultproblem.nidirect.gov.uk/streetlight.html click 'continue' and type in the address or zoom to the area affected.
Locate and click on the affected street light and then click on 'Report a new fault at this location' and complete the details on the form and your faulty light is reported and will turn red on the map and you will get a confirmation email from the system.
Upon repair and clearance of fault you will be notified again by email.
Mr McCrea said member s of the public who were not comfortable using the online system should not hesitate to contact either his office on 028 796 32664 or 028 867 64952 to report such faults.
