Woman charged with harassment and disorderly behaviour fined £350

A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrates Court charged with harassment and disorderly behaviour.
Elizabeth Johnstone (36) of Beraghvale in Derry admitted between May 1 and 2 last year, harassing a woman incorrectly believed to have been involved in the assault of a member of her family.
The court heard how Johnstone went to the victim's house and smashed her window. It was also heard that Johnstone returned the following day.
Defence solicitor Kevin Casey said that the incident was 'unfortunate' and based on misinformation received by Johnstone relating to the assault.
He also said that the second incident happened when Johnstone had returned to try and apologise for her actions.
It was also said that there had been an attempt at mediation that had not been looked on fondly by the victim.
Johnstone received a fine of £350 for the incident.
