Woman fined for two charges of disorderly behaviour

A woman has been fined at Derry Magistrate's Court today for two charges of disorderly behaviour on different dates.
Aoife Connell (29) of Dacre Terrace in Derry admitted both charges that occurred in May and October this year.
The court heard that on May 30 police were called to a report of an incident in Foyle Street in Derry.
They were told that a woman who had been drinking with the defendant in the Peace Garden said that she had been assaulted.
Police noted marks on the woman but believed that the injuries mat have been from an earlier period.
Connell started 'shouting aggressively' at the other woman and threatened to kill her.
She later said she had not meant the threat.
The court also heard that on October 9 police were called to an incident in Great James Street where Connell was banging on a door.
She said that she had been thrown out of the house and wanted her belongings that were still inside.
When it was ascertained there were no belongings inside Connell became irate and ran into the middle of the road.
Defence counsel Stephen Mooney said there was a relevant record and said 'the common denominator' was alcohol but the defendant said she had no memory of the incidents.
She was fined a total of £300.
