A woman has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrates’ Court following a breach of her bail conditions after a judge told her she had 'run out of options '.
Courtney Temple (22) of no fixed abode was arrested following a call to police after her bail address was withdrawn.
When police arrived, they immediately noticed that Temple was under the influence of alcohol and she refused to provide a breath sample, in breach of her conditions that had been set six days prior.
Police objected to bail as this was her third breach in the space of a month.
She also has 32 breaches for previous offences and 15 prior relevant convictions.
Police say that Temple's offending is 'directly linked to alcohol' and that 'the public is at risk' if she continues to drink.
Defence Barrister Sinead Rogan said that all of Temple's recent breaches have not involved any new offending. She added that Temple is an alcoholic but 'doesn't commit new offences while on bail'.
District Judge Suzanne Rice refused bail, telling her that she has 'run out of options' and citing her previous record.
She will appear again on July 16.
