Young musicians get the chance to show off their talent at a special concert in Derry

Talented young musicians will show off their talent in Derry next month.

Studio 2 is ready to run their second in the series of ‘Messin’ With Music’ events.

If you are aged 13-17 then the Arts Hub is the place to be between Saturday, December 3, and Wednesday, December 7, from 12-4pm and 6pm-9.15pm.

Run under the direction of the talented McLaughlin brothers, Caolan and Denis, the event will see Studio 2 host the teenagers in getting experience and knowledge in music, jamming, writing, and then, performing in their own band in front of a live audience at the Wee Theatre.

This is a free opportunity thanks to the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Greater Shantallow Community Arts with all sessions running from the newly refurbished Studio 2 at Skeoge Industrial Estate.

Music mentor Caolan McLaughlin said: "It would be great to see teenagers from across the town come along and take part in this wonderful venture. They will have fun, learn, experience the buzz of playing in a live band, and best of all, perform their own piece! I would appeal to all teenagers to come along and take part. All we require is they have an interest in music.”
