After a dry and bright start to the day in Donegal it'll turn wet and windy with gales developing in coastal areas.
A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Donegal ahead of expected strong and gusty south to southeast winds on Friday. The warning comes into effect at 12 noon today, and will remain in place until 9pm.
Rain will spread from the south through the afternoon becoming widespread. Some heavy and squally bursts are possible, especially in the evening. Highest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees with fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds.
Continuing wet and windy at first tonight. The rain will clear eastwards overnight with clear spells and scattered showers following into the west. As the rain clears the winds will ease too, becoming moderate to fresh. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees.
It will become windy again tomorrow with fresh to strong and gusty south to southwest winds and gales on coasts. A crisp and sunny start in the east will give way to scattered blustery showers spreading from the west. Some of the showers will be heavy with a chance of hail and thunder, and a few could also be wintry over high ground in the west early on. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.
