A Ballyshannon man has been formally introduced in court as Donegal’s newest solicitor.
Mr Daniel Mannion was presented to Ballyshannon District Court on Friday.
A son of Johnny and Sharon Mannion, the 28-year-old is working with Reid & Sweeney Solicitors in Ballyshannon.
He has been working alongside John Murray in the practice for the last four years.
Mr Mannion, a native of Saimer Drive in Ballyshannon, has both a Bachelor’s Degree (LLB) and a Masters from Maynooth University.
He lived for a period in Dublin. A return to Ballyshannon during the Covid-19 pandemic was initially planned as a temporary move, but he is now permanently back on Erneside.
Mr Mannion, a keen sportsman, was introduced to the court by experienced solicitor Mr Jim Corbett.
Judge Michael Connellan wished Mr Mannion every success and good health and happiness in the role.
“You will still be here in 40 years’ time,” Judge Connellan remarked.
Inspector Michael Doherty wished him well on behalf of An Garda Siochana while good wishes were also given on behalf of the Courts Service.
Born and raised a stone’s throw from the courthouse in his home town, Mr Mannion said he is proud to have qualified. He has thanked his parents, Johnny and Sharon and his partner Melissa for their support.
