The Donegal Women's League's senior cup final takes place in Letterkenny on Sunday evening.

Bonagee United go in search of a League and Cup double when they face Drumbar United in the Donegal Women’s League’s senior cup final on Sunday evening (Leckview Park, 7.30pm).

The Dry Arch Park side were crowned league champions thanks to a big win over Drumbar two weeks ago.

Now, Bonagee are gunning to add the cup to the sideboard.

Bonagee booked their place in the final thanks to a dramatic win over Lagan Harps with a late, late comeback seeing Ciana Brogan and Caoimhne Heron turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 win,

Former Sion Swifts midfielder Brogan has been in a good vein of goalscoring form in recent weeks while Bronagh Gallagher has taken her tally for the season to 17.

The Bonagee women have enjoyed FAI Intermediate and Senior Cup sojourns this year, like their male counterparts. Indeed, some football anoraks have suggested that Bonagee are the first non-league club to contest both senior cups in the same year.

It’s been back to brass tacks again in recent weeks, though, and Chris McNulty’s team - who were due to face Derry City in a friendly at the Brandywell on Wednesday night - are aiming to add this cup to the club’s honours list for the first time.

Drumbar are appearing in the final for the first time having kept their nerve for a 4-2 penalty shoot out win away to Raphoe Town.

Leah Boyle, Shaznay Doyle and Emma O’Doherty netted the Drumbar goals in a 3-3 draw before they prevailed on spot kicks.

Sunday’s Cup final will be preceded by the Shield final between Raphoe Town and Lagan Harps, a game which is pencilled in for 5pm.
