Book your place at The Human Library® - a library of people

How would you like to have a conversation with a wide range of people and be afforded the opportunity to ask questions
The Human Library® is a library of people which is designed to challenge stigma and stereotypes. The organisation host events all over the world where readers can borrow human beings serving as open books and have conversations they would not normally have access to.
Every human book from The Human Library® bookshelf represents a group in our society that is often subjected to prejudice, stigmatization or discrimination because of their lifestyle, diagnosis, belief, disability, social status, ethnic origin or because of another issue.
The Human Library® creates a safe space for dialogue where topics are discussed openly between human books and their readers, a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered. All of the human books are volunteers with personal experience with their topic. The Human Library® is a not for profit learning platform that has hosted personal conversations designed to challenge stigma and stereotypes since 2000.
The event is strictly for over 18s only and takes place on Wednesday, July 19, at Leabharlann Ghaoth Dobhair.
On Wednesday, people will be invited to listen to people who have experience of Parkinson’s, Autism spectrum disorder, those who are paraplegic, being pregnant with Cancer and they can also have a chat to An Giúdach Gaelach, The Jewish Gael.
The discussions take place at different times so please click here for times and for further information or go to eaf.ie/events/the- human-library/
