Building materials worth over €7,000 taken in daylight robbery in Stranorlar

Brazen thieves made off with tonnes of steel from a Stranorlar business.

Over €7,000 worth of materials were taken in the daring daylight raid.

The incident occurred on January 11 and was detected in recent days. Gardai were instantly alerted and a probe has been launched.

It is understood that the incident, during which culprits loaded a lorry and fled with the expensive material, has been captured on CCTV.

“Gardaí at Ballybofey are investigating the alleged theft of building materials worth in excess of €7,000 from a premises in Stranolar,” a Garda spokesperson said.

Gardai say that enquiries are ongoing.
