A fundraising draw for Cancer Care West will take place in Letterkenny next Saturday, August 2.

The fundraiser has been organised by Letterkenny man John Wilkie and tickets for the draw will be available to purchase at Simpsons supermarket from 9am.

There are four prizes on offer including a €25 petrol voucher, a meal voucher, a bottle of wine and chocolates. Tickets can be bought three for €5.

“We’re a great county for supporting charity,” said John. “You don’t realise what cancer is until it’s on your doorstep.”

John is a volunteer with Cancer Care West and just last month, he handed over a cheque to the Donegal branch worth €842.10, raised from his climb up Mount Errigal.

He climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in 2023 for Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, raising over €11,000.

The Donegal Cancer Support Centre is located at Station House, Pearse Rd, Letterkenny, F92 P6YT. Donations to Cancer Care West can be made through this link
