Danny O’Carroll, who stars as Buster Brady in Mrs Brown’s Boys, and his dancing partner Salome Chachua have made their way to the Dancing With The Stars finale.
The celebrity final foursome also includes Olympic gymnast Rhys McClenaghan with pro partner Laura Nolan, Taekwondo Olympian Jack Woolley and Alex Vladimirov, and TikTok personality Kayleigh Trappe and Ervinas Merfeldas.
Firstly, they will each perform a routine from a previous week, as requested by the judges. This can be a routine that the judges feel the couple could improve on, or one that they would like to see again.
Danny and Salome Chachua will dance the Charleston to Don’t Blame it On Me by Michael Bublé. The performance, from week two, scored the couple four nines and remains Danny’s highest-scoring dance to date.
Each couple's second routine will be a 'Showdance’ - a freestyle performance that allows them to combine different dance styles in order to showcase the creativity, skills and storytelling abilities they each developed throughout their Dancing with the Stars journey. Danny and Salome will dance to Rock This Party by Bob Sinclair.
Dubliner Danny, who currently resides in Manorcunningham, danced a “snake themed tango” to Poison by Alice Cooper, last weekend.
"From your first step you gave me chills”, said judge Karen Byrne. “From last week to this week, you came out fighting. All I can say is, you are fighting like a mad thing to get into this final!"
Another judge, Arthur Gourounlian said: “I was engrossed in this number. This was like a snake, smooth yet dangerous. Your posture, frame was impeccable. It was intoxicating and mesmerising.”
Loraine Barry said: "To capture the atmosphere of a tango, you have to get into position... For me it was very clear you had the tango taps in there ... You gave it your all, you went for it tonight."
“A fabulous way to fight for a place in the final” said judge Brian Redmond.
The final will be aired on RTÉ One at 6:30pm on Sunday, March 16. The series is once again hosted by Jennifer Zamparelli and Doireann Garrihy this season. Two-time Dancing with the Stars winner and professional dancer Karen Byrne will join the judging panel in 2025 alongside longstanding judges Loraine Barry, Brian Redmond, and Arthur Gourounlian.
