Daytime robbery leaves Letterkenny home 'ransacked'

A burglary of a Letterkenny home saw a large sum of cash and jewellery stolen, as well as damage to the property.

The burglary occurred at a house in the Ard Glas, Long Lane area of Letterkenny on Saturday, October 17, between the hours of 9:50 am and 8:45 pm.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said, “The house had been vacant between those hours and the homeowner returned home to discover that the house had been ransacked.”

Entry into the property had been gained via the back door, which had been damaged.

A large sum of cash and jewellery, including a number of gold chains, were stolen from the house.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have travelled in the Ard Glas area, or within the general area, between 6:30 pm and 8 pm with a dash-cam to make the footage available to them.

Gardaí ask if anyone observed any suspicious activity, vehicles or people in that area on that date, to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.”
