Several roads in the county are impassable this morning with black ice lingering.

Donegal County Council have asked motorists to take care and should assume no road is free of ice - they noted the back road from Curraghamone to Drumboe is impassable due to ice.

"As the cold spell continues, road users are advised to use extreme caution when travelling on all roads," the Council said. "Roads throughout the county have black ice. Back Road Curraghamone to Drumboe is impassable due to ice. Motorists should use the main road where possible and assume no road is ice-free. Community Grit Heaps are available for use on public roads at Glenmore Picnic Area and Stranorlar Carpark (adjacent Gibsons and Pet shop)."
