Gardaí and emergency services attend scene of collision on main R241; Road has since reopened to traffic

A female driver was fortunate to escape serious injury in a crash just outside Moville this morning.

The single-vehicle collision occured on the main R241 road between Moville and Greencastle, not far from a lay-by adjacent to the Moville GAA grounds on Saturday, August 2.

It’s understood the woman suddenly lost control of her vehicle and struck a roadside pole. No other vehicles were involved. The incident occurred just after 8am, about one mile from the centre of Moville town.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the crash and the woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The guards closed the road for approximately one hour, but it has since reopened.

Traffic cones remain at the impact site, ahead of repair work to the damaged telegraph pole.
