The Gathering on August 30 and 31 will take place at iconic venues in Dunlewey, including McGeadys Bar and the Dunlewey Lakeside Centre
McGeadys from all corners of the globe will converge in Donegal later this month for the highly anticipated McGeady Clan Gathering.
This event promises a fantastic weekend filled with live music, historical talks, social story events, and much more.
The Gathering on August 30 and 31 will take place at iconic venues in Dunlewey, including McGeadys Bar and the Dunlewey Lakeside Centre. These locations will host a range of activities celebrating the rich heritage and enduring legacy of the McGeady family.
The north-west of Ireland, particularly the area between Derry and Cloughaneely/Gweedore, is recognised as the traditional home of the McGeadys. Historical census data shows that many McGeadys have roots in this region, making this gathering a poignant return to the homestead for many.
Over the years, McGeadys have emigrated to all corners of the world, and this event provides a wonderful opportunity for international members of the clan to reconnect with their heritage and for local Donegal McGeadys to extend a warm welcome to their global family.
Whether you are a McGeady, McGady or McGeadie, married to a McGeady, or have McGeady ancestry, you are invited to join in the celebrations. This is a unique chance to meet family members, share stories, and celebrate the McGeady legacy together.
Don’t miss out on this extraordinary event. Spread the word and make sure your family knows about this incredible opportunity to reconnect with their roots and enjoy a memorable weekend in Dunlewey.
