Milford is set to usher in the festive season this afternoon, with a full programme of Christmas celebrations organised by the Milford & District Resource Centre.
The day begins with a Christmas Craft Fair from 12pm to 4pm at Milford Parochial Hall on the Kilmacrennan Road, where local makers and creators will showcase a range of handmade gifts and seasonal items.
The annual Parade of Lights will assemble from 4pm at the Top of the Town before setting off at 4:30pm, bringing colour and Christmas cheer through the streets. Crowds will then gather at the Christmas tree for music and the much-anticipated arrival of Santa at 5pm.
Festivities will culminate in the official Christmas Lights Switch-On at 5:30pm, led by Mary Crerand and Martin O’Donnell. The celebration will continue into the evening with music and refreshments at Esther’s Café, which will remain open late to mark the occasion. Organisers are encouraging families and community members to come out and enjoy what promises to be a lively and heart-warming start to the Christmas season in Milford.
