Dr Janinda Muhandiramge has been formally appointed as GP

The Health Service Executive (HSE) has announced that Doctor Janinda Muhandiramge has been formally appointed as GP in the Dunkineely area. Doctor Muhandiramge's full-time post will will come into effect from Monday, January 30.

The Dunkineely Health Centre had been without a GP since mid-November when Dr Charles McManus left to take up a role in a Glenties practice. Patients were advised, at that time, that they would be cared for in the Glenties practice until a replacement was found.

The recruitment process got underway in December with a spokesperson for the HSE saying that GP recruitment was proving extremely difficult across the country.
