Bundoran was thronged with visitors this afternoon for their annual St Patrick's Day parade and the weather was near perfect apart from a few ice cream cones melting in the hands of both kids and it has to be said, adults as well.
Among the participants were the Ballindarragh Accordion Band, the Cooneen Pipe Band, the Letterbreen Silver Band, the Moybrone Pipe Band and the Zanabatuta Charanga Marching Band from Bundoran's twin town of Sesimbra, Portugal.
The parade will be led by a colour party consisting of members of the Reserve and Permanent Defence Forces from the 28th Infantry Battalion at Finner Camp.
The following groups were also participants on the day with Stagecraft Youth Drama, Castle Adventure Open Farm, Melvin Gaels CLG, Bundoran Fire Service, Domican Academy of Irish Dancing, North West Canoeing Club, Irish Gap Year, Bundoran Tidy Towns Michelle Bell's School of Dance and the Donegal Vintage & Classic Car Club.
Some of the participants had the good fortune of nipping in from the Ballyshannon parade which had started earlier at 2pm, but a great day overall, especially for the little bright happy faces.
