Marching bands and floats were the main attractions in Moville’s St Patrick’s Day parade as hundreds of locals and visitors alike took to the streets to support the Foyleside town’s celebrations. The town was resplendent in green bunting as local businesses and sports teams took part in the hour-long parade. Ahead of Friday’s parade the big tree in the Market Square and the Foyle Hotel were lit up green all week. Bouncy castles in the Market Square helped entertain children and musical entertainment was provided by the David Craig Band. The organising committee for the parade had been boosted by the addition of new members that joined in recent months. “They have worked enthusiastically over the last few months and their ideas and commitment have energised us all and ensured the parade has a bright future,” the chair of the parade organising committee Eamon McLaughlin said.
