One driver in the Letterkenny area was detected at 156km/h with another in the Donegal Town area nabbed driving at 137km/h
Gardai in Donegal are continuing to remind motorists to drive safely after a couple of speedsters were nabbed on Friday.
One driver in the Letterkenny area was detected traveling at 156km/h while another in the Donegal Town area was clocked at 137km/h.
A series of checkpoints and speed checks were conducted as part of a ‘day of action’ on Friday.
A motorist on the Letterkenny dual carriageway, a stretch of the N13 road, was detected at 156km/h. Gardai say the driver will receive a fine of €160 and three penalty points after being clocked by the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit.
Officers from the Donegal Town Roads Policing Unit detected another driver travelling at a speed of 137KPH on the N15. A fixed charge penalty notice has been issued.
A Garda spokesperson said: “We are trying to make the roads safer for everyone. Please play your part and slow down. Speed can and does kill.”
