Gardaí urge Leaving Cert students to celebrate responsibly
They also urge people to be kind to one another, not to take drugs and to walk away from agression
Gardaí are urging Leaving Cert students in Donegal who are receiving their results today to look out for their friends and ensure everyone is accounted for at the end of the night.
On a post to their social media, they also warn students to look after their belongings and to avoid walking alone, in dark places, at night. Students are asked to be wary of their surroundings and to walk away from someone who is being aggressive and to seek help, where necessary.
"Never take illegal drugs of any kind. That future that you are dreaming of this very day may not come at all should you start to experiment with drugs," gardaí warn.
They ask students to be kind to anyone who may not have received the results they wanted as they may be feeling low.
Gardaí may be contacted on a 24/7 basis in Letterkenny on 074 9167100, in Buncrana on 074 9320540, in Milford on 074 9153060 and in Ballyshannon on 071 9858530.
Gardaí urge everyone to enjoy their night responsibly and wish them all the very best in the future.
