Gardai warn of 'zero tolerance' as quad seized in Ballybofey

A quad being driven in a dangerous manner in the Ballybofey area was seized.

Overnight, Gardai seized the quad and arrested the driver.

The quad was seized under Section 109(a) of the Road Traffic Act 1961. 

Under this legislation, in order to get the vehicle back, the driver must apply to a Judge of the District Court. 

A Garda spokesperson said: “We are enforcing a ZERO tolerance policy in relation to the dangerous use of ANY type of vehicle on the roads.”
