Headstone dislodged and a kerb damaged at a Letterkenny graveyard
Gardaí say the damage appears to have been done by a vehicle or a trailer
A headstone was dislodged and a kerb damaged at a Letterkenny graveyard, with An Garda Síochána believing it was struck by a vehicle or its trailer.
“We are appealing for information in connection with an incident of criminal damage that occurred at Leck Graveyard in Letterkenny between Monday, June 15, and Tuesday, June 23,” Garda Gráinne Doherty said.
“A grave in the graveyard was damaged at some stage between those dates. The headstone appears to have been struck by a vehicle or a trailer and it was dislodged from its position at the top of the grave. Damage was also caused to the kerb surrounding the grave. We appeal to anyone who may have relevant information in relation to this incident to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.”
