Highest night time temperature of 2023 in Donegal recorded 17.6C over weekend

Donegal's highest official temperature on Saturday peaked at 23.3C according to Met Éireann at its station in Finner, but the bigger news was that the night max temperature of 17.6C was the highest recorded in the county, so far this year.
The overnight figure was only higher at Phoenix Park in Dublin by 0.1C, at 17.7C than anywhere else in the Republic.
Last Wednesday's highest daytime temperature in Donegal was recorded at 17.9C, just 0.3C higher than the Saturday June 24 highest night temperature, which might well explain, the many sleepless nights of the past week.
Friday, June 23 saw a day time high of 21.2C and on Thursday, June 22 it was 23.4C.
However, it has been the humidity and thunderstorms of the past week, that have made things feel more uncomfortable, than earlier in the month, when it was just plain 'hot'.
Up until yesterday, the highest official night time temperature was recorded on Sunday June 11 at 16.1C.
And to give an indication of just how warm that was, that earlier June night reading was higher than the highest daytime temperatures for 18 of the 31 days on May in Donegal.
The two hottest days of the month according to official Met Éireann stats were June 14 and June 15 when the highest Donegal temperatures were recorded at 26.4C and 26.3C respectively - both classified as heatwave breaking days.
The highest daytime temperature so far this June has dipped below 20C on three occasions, and two of them were 19.5C.
