The protest, organised by Fiona Igoe, called for increased support in special education

Buncrana protest held over “uncertainty” in special education supports.

The protest was organised by Fiona Igoe, whose daughter, Síofra, attends St Oran’s National School and receives Special Needs Assistant (SNA) support.

St Oran's was included in the SNA cuts, which have now been reversed for the 2026/2027 academic year.

100% Redress Councillor Joy Beard also spoke at the protest, calling for increases in SNA provision and a long-term national plan for special education.
