Emily Graham,  employment support officer with IDP said it was a pleasure to be able to come to Donegal Horizons in Carndonagh at the request of staff members to conduct the targeted training sessions.

“All the participants were very welcoming and engaged throughout, it was a pleasure to be involved in community based training and support such as this,”  Emily said.

Participant Joanna Campbell said she found the classes very helpful, adding that she ‘learned a lot’ throughout the three sessions.

Joanna, like other members of Donegal Horizons, is currently completing a work placement in Moville. She said the CV workshops helped her to use her experience to write up her CV.

Lisa Bradley, senior client facilitator at Donegal Horizons in Carndonagh, also said the CV workshop was very beneficial for the trainees and enabled them to gain an understanding of what a CV is and how to make their own CV.

“Many of the trainees didn’t have a CV before the workshop,” said Lisa.

“But now thanks to IDP they have all created their own CV using the templates/advice given by Emily and the team.

“All the information shared with the trainees during the CV and interview skills workshop was clear, concise and informative and will be beneficial when trainees opted to apply for placement/work experience in the future,” added Lisa.

IDP’s employment support team provide CV support and help with preparing for interviews both on a one-to-one basis and as part of group workshops free of charge.
