Local businesses gathered at Kernan’s Bistro for a business breakfast hosted by Líonra Leitir Ceanainn in conjunction with the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, exploring how Irish can strengthen business branding.
Marianne Ní Dhomhnaill of Kombucha na Dáiligh and Kuba Blaszczok of Ulster Mead shared how they incorporate Irish into their businesses. While Marianne’s use of Irish reflects her Gaeltacht background, Kuba, originally from Poland, has embraced the language in his product labelling despite not speaking Irish. Both highlighted how Irish can add authenticity and help a brand connect with customers.
Bairbre also outlined funding supports available for businesses incorporating Irish into signage, labelling and printed materials, alongside an opportunity for four Letterkenny businesses to win a bespoke branding design package with Séanna Ó Coinn of Aileach Digital through Líonra Leitir Ceanainn.
The session encouraged discussion among attendees with varying levels of Irish, including people from other countries beginning to learn the language through Líonra Leitir Ceanainn’s classes.
Applications for the free branding design packages close on Monday, October 19. Businesses can apply online here.
