It’s panto time again, as Moville Musical Society seeks new cast

Moville Musical Society is getting ready to take centre stage once again as it begins the search for a cast for its next pantomime.

The society is holding an open cast call on Tuesday, September 8, at 8pm in St Eugene’s Hall, Moville, with anyone aged 18 and over invited to come along.

And there is no need to be a seasoned thespian, with the society stressing that no previous acting experience is required.

Whether you have years of experience under the spotlight or have always fancied giving panto a go, the message is simple – come along, bring your enthusiasm and be prepared to have some fun.

The Society says the pantomime itself will not be selected until it has seen who comes along to audition and discovered the particular talents and strengths within the cast.

So, for now, the plot is being kept firmly behind the curtain.

The production will then be rehearsed throughout the winter, with the finished show expected to hit the hallowed St Eugene’s Hall stage in early 2027.

Last year’s production, Pinocchio, proved a huge success, opening on January 22 and running until February 1, with audiences turning out in such numbers that performances sold out.

Now the Society is hoping to follow that success with another memorable show.

Meanwhile, Moville Musical Society is also seeking expressions of interest from anyone interested in taking on the role of choreographer. Applicants should be over 18, have an interest in dance and enjoy working with young people.
