A man caught speeding in a Jaguar on the Letterkenny dual carriageway has been hit with a fine.
Ciaran Murray was caught driving at 130km/h at Trimragh, Letterkenny on July 22, 2024.
Garda Barry Gallagher told Letterkenny District Court that he was operating a speed checkpoint on the day in question. He stopped a red Jaguar, which was being driven by Murray, having clocked the vehicle 30km/h over the speed limit of 100km/h.
A fixed charge penalty notice (FCPN) was issued to Murray, but was not paid.
The 37-year-old, of Powerscourt Place, Belfast, was not present in court and had no legal representation when his case appeared before the court.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham said she found the facts proven and fined Murray - who has no previous convictions - €350, allowing five months to pay.
