Falcarragh-based Terry Properties facilitating sale

Land off an iconic mountain in Donegal has been listed for sale with agents open to offers.

Falcarragh-based Terry Properties is facilitating the sale of 27 acres of commonage on Muckish Mountain on the Falcarragh side of the mountain.

The size of the land being sold is equivalent to 15 football pitches.

Land being sold is being done so using commonage, a form of shared land ownership. Commonage refers to the rights held by multiple individuals to graze land, regardless of whether they own the underlying land.

At a height of 667 metres and a prominence of 142 metres, Muckish Mountain is the 80th highest mountain in Ireland (when judged with prominence), and the 14th highest in Ulster.

Known for its distinctive shape, for many years, a sand quarry was in use on the side of the mountain, of which its remnants remain on the mountain on the Miner’s Path, a popular route for hikers.
