‘Little Library Box’ opens in Donegal Town
The library was designed by Amy Boal, as part of a project.
The free library is at Donegal Town Credit Union and holds books that cost nothing for members of the public to take home to read.
The books were donated by Donegal County Library, and the library box was designed by Amy Boal as part of her Module 3, Foróige Leadership for Life, Community Action Project.
The library was constructed with help from the Donegal Town Men's Shed, and the Credit Union is delighted to have the library box outside their premises.
Amy was supported in this project by Susan Cleary, Regional Youth Officer, and Detective Garda Alison Moore, who was her mentor for the project.
Detective Garda Moore volunteers at her local Foróige Youth Club in Donegal Town, and is assisting Foróige in their efforts to recruit enthusiastic volunteers to help run their clubs across Donegal.
“Working as a Foróige volunteer is such a rewarding way of getting involved with helping our young people make a difference in their local communities.” Detective Garda Moore said.
An Garda Síochána Donegal shared, “Well done to Amy and to all involved!”
