The members of the Letterkenny / Milford Municipal District were delighted to host a Mayor’s Reception in honour of Roisin Hegarty at the Public Services Centre, Letterkenny, last evening, in recognition of her remarkable achievements in the sport of boxing.
The reception was held to acknowledge Roisin’s outstanding success in the ring, including her gold medal win at the U15 European Championships last year, an achievement that brought great pride to her family, her club and the wider Donegal community.
Accepting the award, Roisin thanked the dedicated team behind her success, including her coaches, trainers and family, whose continued support and encouragement have helped her reach such an impressive level in her sporting career.
Cllr. Ciaran Brogan, Mayor, congratulated Roisin on her success and said he had been closely following her sporting journey. He praised her dedication, determination and achievements to date, and noted that, like Katie Taylor, she is a wonderful ambassador for boxing and an inspiration to young people across Donegal.
