Memorial Match to honour the memory of Fionn McLaughlin planned for Letterkenny
The tribute game will take place on Monday, August 25, with kick-off at 7pm, when a Letterkenny Rovers Select side will face Coláiste Ailigh
The local football community in Letterkenny will come together later this month to remember the late Fionn McLaughlin with a special memorial match at Leckview Park, on what would've been the week of his 18th birthday.
The tribute game will take place on Monday, August 25, with kick-off at 7pm, when a Letterkenny Rovers Select side will face Coláiste Ailigh.
The occasion will see former teammates, classmates, family, and friends take to the pitch in Fionn’s memory, alongside members of his own family who are deeply involved with the club. His brothers Calum (U16s & Youths) and Shay (U10s), as well as sisters Aoibhinn and Cara (U14 and U16 Girls), and father Joe, who coaches both the U16s and U10s, will all be part of the evening’s event.
Donations on the night will go towards The Samaritans and The Divine Mercy Centre, Letterkenny, with an online option also available through the Fionn McLaughlin Memorial Fund GoFundMe page.
Organisers are encouraging the wider community to attend and show support for Fionn’s family and friends, ensuring his memory is honoured in a fitting way. He would've turned 18 on August 26.
