Old draughty windows make way for modern triple glazing, thanks to generous Inishowen Credit Union community funding

Moville Men’s Shed has been given a welcome upgrade, with five brand-new triple-glazed uPVC windows replacing old, draughty frames that were decades past their sell-by date.

The new windows have been installed thanks to Inishowen Credit Union, through its Community Fund, which continues to provide valuable support to the Men’s Shed and community groups across Inishowen.

The difference between the old and new windows at the Moville premises is striking, with the new triple glazing set to make the Shed a warmer, brighter and more comfortable place for its members.

The improved insulation will help keep out the cold winter draughts while retaining heat, potentially reducing energy costs and allowing more resources to be directed towards the Shed’s activities.

The new windows will also bring more natural light into the building, benefiting the weekly projects, music sessions and workshops held there. Their sound-reducing properties should also create a quieter environment for members.

The Men’s Shed has extended a special thanks to Cathal McGuinness and his team at CMG Windows and Doors for the quality of the installation and for supporting a local community project.

However, the biggest thank-you is reserved for Inishowen Credit Union, whose Community Fund continues to invest in community facilities and organisations throughout Inishowen.

For Moville Men’s Shed, the new windows are more than just a facelift. They will help make the Shed warmer, more energy-efficient and more enjoyable for the members who use it throughout the year.

Out with the old, in with the new – and perhaps a little less members’ hot air escaping in the future!
