Rev Colin McKibbin, on behalf of the Black Memorial Hall Committee, has submitted an application to Donegal County Council in respect of proposed works to the hall

There are plans for upgrade works to the Black Memorial Hall in Convoy.

The Presbyterian Church hall will get a refurbishment, pending the granting of planning permission which has been sought.

Rev Colin McKibbin, on behalf of the Black Memorial Hall Committee, submitted an application to the local authority.

They are seeking the go ahead for the construction of an extension to the existing community hall and for a change of use of an existing storage shed to provide ancillary accommodation incorporating a multi-purpose community space.

Works will include the provision of new window and door openings to the current building and also associated site works.

The Presbyterian Church hall is a protected structure.

The facility was built in 1910 and was gifted to the Convoy Presbyterian Church by RJ Black and William Black.

Donegal County Council will decide on the application by July 25.
