Reports of Letterkenny thefts under investigation
Enquiries are ongoing at this time, say Gardai
A spate of thefts which are alleged to have place across Letterkenny today, have been reported to Gardai, they have confirmed.
In a short statement to Donegal Live, a spokesperson would not elaborate on the nature of the alleged incident but did say.
"Gardaí in Letterkenny have received a report of thefts in district this morning.
"Enquiries are ongoing at this time," they said.
It has been reported that the trouble began, when a shoplifting gang swooped on the Cathedral, but this was not confirmed by Gardai themselves.
The modus operandi appears to be flagrant, where an individual or individuals simply enters a retail premises and allegedly walks out without paying for the items on their person.
