'Please allow extra time for the work and school run on Monday morning,' Donegal County Council have advised

Motorists in the Buncrana area are advised that planned roadworks will take place on Cockhill Road, at the junction with Westbrook Bridge, from around 7:30am on Monday, April 27.

The works are expected to last one day, though they will likely continue for most of the day.

“Please allow extra time for the work and school run on Monday morning,” Donegal County Council have advised. “The works are to install a raised pedestrian crossing, similar to the one already in place on the town side of the junction.

While the works are ongoing, there will be a one-way system in operation, with traffic travelling towards Buncrana from the Cockhill/Illies direction proceeding as normal; traffic coming from the town side will be diverted in a loop through Slavery/Clonbeg; Westbrook Bridge will be closed, with traffic from Pillar Park, The Woods and surrounding areas diverted up to Clonbeg as part of the one-way loop.
