Possible traffic calming measures will be considered for the Castleshanaghan Road (L1104-1) at Ballymaleel, between Letterkenny and Ramelton

A safety assessment will be carried out on a busy stretch of road between Letterkenny and Ramelton.

Possible traffic calming measures will be considered for the Castleshanaghan Road (L1104-1) at Ballymaleel.

This comes after Cllr Donal Coyle brought a motion to the January meeting of Letterkenny-Milford MD calling for the council to erect traffic calming signs on the road.

Cllr Coyle said he had been approached by a resident who raised concerns about the stretch of road. His motion was seconded by Cllr Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly.

Cllr Coyle welcomed the response from David McIlwaine of the council’s roads and transportation team, who confirmed that a safety assessment would be carried out.
