Seoirse O Dochartaigh’s latest book successfully launched at Carndonagh Library

‘As I Was Going Through Inishowen’ - a collection of hilarious local verse, beautifully illustrated by Maeve Peoples
A large crowd attended the recent public launch of Inishowen writer Seoirse Ó Dochartaigh’s new book at Carndonagh Library.

The book, entitled ‘As I Was Going Through Inishowen’, features charming Limerick-style witticisms based on every town and village across the peninsula. It’s a meandering journey of rhyme from Ballygorman and Ballymagaraghy to Bridgend and back.
Seoirse’s wife Kathryn Daily addressed those gathered at the launch event, while Paul Brown, husband of Maeve Peoples, also spoke, with library staff member Morgan Fry helping to coordinate things.
Moville author O Dochartaigh, who proudly signed copies of his new book at the launch, said it was a great success.
“We had a really lovely day out in spite of my illness – it was such a great turnout.”
“Thanks so much to the library staff for their generous support, and to all who attended,” he said.
‘As I Was Going Through Inishowen’, printed by Foyle Press, is on sale now at SuperValu in Carndonagh for €12. It is also available online from www.seoirse.com for €15 (including €3 to cover postage and processing).
