Arranmore's brave dippers have raised over €2,000 for Arranmore United FC following their St Stephen's Day swim.

CFFAM Árainn Mhór, a Community Co-Operative that runs the Community Services Program, showed its gratitude, especially to Annabelle Rodgers, the granddaughter of the late Frankie Winnie Rodgers, who managed the team and followed them for years.

"Thank you to all the swimmers who took part in the St Stephen’s Day Swim in aid of Arranmore United Football Club," they posted. "A special mention to Annabelle Rodgers, granddaughter of the late Frank Winnie. He would have been very proud of her taking a dip for the club. Between the raffle and swimmers, a total of €2,085 was raised.

"Thanks to all who sponsored prizes. Thanks to Erin McCafferty and Sinead Brady for taking charge of the raffle and doing the draw on the day. A special thank you to Teac Phil Ban for hosting the event. A total of €2085 was raised for the football club. We wish the committee and team all the best for the remainder of the season."
