Friday will be mostly dry with spells of sunshine but there will be a few wintry showers starting out and some lying snow in parts. Highest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees in just light westerly breezes.

The alert message from Met Eireann says: “Very cold with widespread frost, icy stretches and lying snow persisting today, tonight and tomorrow. Possible impacts include hazardous conditions on roads and paths, with some travel disruption.”
