Yellow weather warning for high-temperature for Donegal

The warning comes into effect at 12pm on Wednesday, July 15, and will remain in place until 6am on Friday, July 17
Donegal is set for a continuation of the hot weather spell after Met Éireann issued a Yellow High Temperature warning covering the county.
The warning comes as temperatures are expected to climb above 27 degrees in parts of the country, while overnight temperatures are forecast to remain above 15 degrees, creating warm and uncomfortable conditions, particularly at night.
Met Éireann has warned that the prolonged heat could lead to a number of impacts, including heat stress, uncomfortable sleeping conditions and an increased risk of forest fires and drought. The warm weather is also expected to bring more people to beaches, lakes and other waterways, prompting concerns over water safety.
The warning applies to Donegal along with Cavan, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath, as well as all counties in Munster and Connacht.
With temperatures expected to remain well above average, people in Donegal are being encouraged to take sensible precautions, stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during the hottest part of the day and take extra care if visiting beaches or inland waterways.
The Yellow High Temperature warning comes into effect at 12pm on Wednesday, July 15, and will remain in place until 6am on Friday, July 17.
