Work on new Bridgend road could get underway as soon as 2026

Donegal County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland are inviting residents of the Bridgend area, members of the public and other interested parties to participate in this third non-statutory public consultation for the N13 Bridgend to the County Boundary Route Improvement Project.

Work on what would be the biggest road project ever undertaken in Inishowen could get underway as soon as 2026.

Two possible route corridors would take the bypass north of the village with one southern option.

The process is currently at the Emerging Preferred Option Identification Stage. The aim of the consultation is to receive feedback on this option prior to selecting a preferred option.

A public display of the Emerging Preferred Option will take place in: An Grianán Hotel, Burt on Wednesday, April 5 between 12.00pm-8.00pm

Donegal County Council staff and their design consultants will be available to listen to and register your views.

The consultation period will run from April 5 until May 3.
