Finn Harps boss Darren Murphy ‘It was a game of two halves’
"We won’t get too carried away. Next week we’re at home to Kerry and we’ll turn attention to that right away”
Darren Murphy said his Finn Harps side did enough in the second-half to deserve their 2-1 win away to Wexford on Friday night.
Cian O’Malley had given the hosts the lead on 14 minutes and that’s the way it remained right up until the midpoint.
Patrick Ferry squared matters minutes after the restart while the same player netted a dramatic winner going into injury time.
“The have responded well in all five games this season, even though we lost last week,” said Murphy. "Our second-half performance last week was very good. Tonight, in the first-half we were a little disjointed but much better after the break.
“We created some really good chances. The big thing is we seem to keep going and that’s really important. Wexford were full value for their first-half lead but our second-half… I felt we deserved the three points”.
He added: “It’s a great lift. We’re in a good place. But we won’t get too carried away. Next week we’re at home to Kerry and we’ll turn attention to that right away”.
