Welcoming the announcement Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue said: "This is an important step forward for the project and good news for the school community and will improve the offering and services of the school.

"I thank Minister Norma Foley for confirming the news and for the work of the ETB, principal, staff, students and parents of the schools for progressing the project.

"Donegal Education and Training Board will now work to also finalise the tendering process for appointment of a mechanical contractor and electrical contractor to work with the main contractor.
