Tributes paid to ‘beloved’ Moville parish housekeeper Martha McConnellogue

‘Her sense of care was second to none and her dedication to her work exemplary’
Tributes have been paid to Moville parish housekeeper Martha McConnellogue who has passed away after a sudden illness.
Ms McConnellogue died in Altnagelvin Hospital and her funeral Mass took place in St Columba's Church, Drung, last Friday.
Parish priest Fr Colm O'Doherty extended sincere sympathies to the family of “my beloved housekeeper” including her husband Colm, her daughter Laura, her brothers and sister and wider family circle.
Writing in the parish bulletin he said the Moville native, who lived in Ballyratten, Drung, was housekeeper in the parish for many years, having first taken up the role when the late Fr Paddy O’Kane was parish priest.
“Martha was always a pleasant and welcoming face at the door or voice on the telephone when people called, and did her best to try and help everyone, friend and stranger alike, as much as possible,” he said.
“Her sense of care was second to none and her dedication to her work exemplary. All of us here at the house will miss her terribly, not just as a colleague but most especially as a friend. May she rest in eternal peace with the Lord. ”
