Ballinamore wins 30ft tree for Christmas!
7UP will light up the tree next Thursday, November 26
Ballinamore will dazzle this Christmas with a 30ft fully lit Christmas tree thanks to 7UP Ireland and 2FM.
29-year-old John Creamer won the town a wonderful Christmas present last Friday on 2FM. He entered a competition run by the national radio station and 7UP to win a Christmas tree and lighting party. While he didn’t expect to win; the born and bred Ballinamore man thought it was worth a go.
He was put onto the Jennifer Zamparelli Show on 2FM last Friday morning, November 11. John didn’t hold back and he informed the nation that his town is one of the best in the country; when the presenter said she had never even heard of Ballinamore, John invited her to visit the town! Jennifer Zamperelli said John should be made Mayor of Ballinamore when he won the prize.
Ballinamore will kick off the festive season in style next Thursday, November 24. The 30ft tree will be erected and lit at 7pm with a 7UP DJ and party to follow at the Courthouse. 7up brand ambassadors handing out lots of free 7up goodies!
This is a separate event from the Ballinamore Christmas Lights launch on December 10 which Santa Claus is attending.
John also won a €250 one for all voucher for entering the competition. John said the reaction from locals has been great and he hopes “the big Christmas tree will bring joy.”
