The day will be bright with some light cloud, which is expected to continue throughout the day.

The dry weather will continue into tonight, but conditions will break later with blustery gusts accompanied by possibly heavy showers in the early hours and into tomorrow morning.

Across Connacht today, frost along with patches of mist and fog will gradually clear during the morning. It will be cold and mainly dry with good sunshine, though a few showers may affect western counties. Highest afternoon temperatures will range from 5 to 8 degrees, with mostly light south-westerly breezes.

Early tonight will be dry and cold with clear spells and lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees. Cloud will increase from the west, with rain developing in western areas towards midnight and spreading eastwards overnight. Winds will become fresh to strong and gusty from the south, strongest near western and southern coasts.

Nationally, frost, fog and mist will slowly clear this morning, giving way to a cold and mainly dry day with good sunshine. Isolated showers will affect Atlantic coastal counties. Highest afternoon temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees are expected in a light south-westerly breeze.
